Robinson Industries has released a statement after their building caught on fire Thursday morning.

“Most of you have heard by now that there was a major fire with extensive loss at Robinson Industries early this morning. Thankfully no one was injured,” stated Robinson Industries in a post to Facebook. “We want all of our customers and employees and community members to know that we are definitely still in business. We also want to express our deepest gratitude to our employees and first responders who went above and beyond to control the fire and get everyone to safety. We are already meeting to first make sure that our customers needs are met and secondly to begin to rebuild. Thank you everyone for your outpouring of support.

In a secondary post, Robinson Industries states that they have machines available to use and are strategizing about how to proceed.

They say they were in meetings while the fire was burning, and will pay all employees at the Curtis Road plant 40 hours for this week. Additionally, they say employees should plan to file for unemployment on Monday, April 4 unless told otherwise.

“We are working closely with the union on every step,” stated Robinson Industries. “It is our goal to contact every employee either today or tomorrow. We greatly appreciate all of you especially in a time like this. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Please feel free to reach out if you have more questions.”

Robinson Industries in Midland County caught on fire Thursday morning.

Surrounding fire crews received a call about the fire around 5:30 a.m., and were on the scene for several hours.

Currently, West Curtis Road along M-18 and Magruder is closed to traffic. Officials are urging people to avoid the area if possible.

Coleman, Beaverton, Clare and Midland Fire Departments were all on the scene working to control the fire.

Consumers Energy was also at the scene working to put out any electrical wires.
