BUCHAREST (Romania), June 7 (SeeNews) – Romania's competition authority said that it will consider the agreed takeover of the local operations of Belgium's Omniform Group by French group Proplast.

In order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with the normal competition environment, the Competition Council will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation, the anti-trust body said in a statement on Friday.

Proplast Group intends to take over Omniform's assets in Romania and Belgium through its subsidiary Nutripack SAS.

Omniform specialises in tailor-made packaging for the food and non-food industries. The group is present in Romania through Duton Plast Muscel, which produces disposable plastic containers, intended mainly for the food industry.

Proplast Group manufactures and sells packaging solutions for food products such as small, medium, and large containers, as well as bowls, cups, plates, tray sealing, and thermoforming solutions.
